Mr. VanDyke’s 35-year career at Nault Architects, Inc. began as a college intern in 1988, ultimately leading to ownership of the firm in 2003, making him the fifth owner of this 137 year old firm. In the mid-1990s, as Director of Project Management and Marketing, he steered the firm’s primary market niche to repair and renovation projects for various State and Federal agencies. 

Since that time, Nault Architects, Inc. has continued to secure on-call design contracts, and to deliver a variety of repair, renovation and reuse projects at State facilities through the Commonwealth. The firm routinely delivers an average of 30+ renovation projects per year, a testimony to his management skills.

Mr. VanDyke is the primary specification writer for the firm and is currently a Board Member and the immediate past President of the Worcester County chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), is the delegate for Worcester to the Northeast Region of CSI and holds Construction Document Technologist (CDT) and Construction Specifier (CCS) Certification through CSI. By preparing the specifications in-house, Nault Architects, Inc. can deliver a better coordinated bid set and project management with a deeper understanding of not just what has been specified, but why. Code compliance, particularly the requirements of the Existing Building Code and the MAAB, are areas of specialization for Mr. VanDyke. His resume in this area includes numerous successful variance awards, defense of clients at the BBRS and successfully arguing a change to the State Plumbing Code relative to juvenile detention facilities. Through his extensive code compliance work, Mr. VanDyke has developed a rapport with State and local Building Officials throughout Massachusetts.
